The 49-annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival is expected to draw more than 150,000 people – making it one of the most popular outdoor fine arts festivals in the United States. 30TH ANNUAL KING MANGO STRUT (Dec. 31) –- This zany, wacky spoof of the former Orange Bowl Parade includes the “Little Miss Mangoes”, the “Marching Freds” (anyone named Fred is invited to join in!), the “Roadkill Band” and other offbeat participants. BAYFRONT PARK’S NEW YEAR’S EVE (Dec. 31) – Free annual New Year’s Eve event featuring a concert performance and midnight fireworks display. BIG ORANGE NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION (Dec. 31) – A City of Miami tradition, the 35-foot neon Big Orange (one of the nation’s official time balls) will rise 400 feet to the top of its home site, the Hotel InterContinental Miami. With 95 percent of its 173,000 acres covered by water, Biscayne National Park is the largest marine park in the National Park System.
